What You Can Do After This Chapter
Learning objective. Learner navigates the complete ISO 20022 catalogue, selecting the right message for each business scenario across payments, cash management, securities, and reporting. Learner practises this skill on realistic banking cases, explaining the reasoning clearly and using correct terminology throughout the work.
Practical assessment. Learner receives twelve business scenarios, including a payment status request, a bank statement, a direct debit mandate, and a payment return, and selects the correct ISO 20022 message for each with the reason. Learner then builds a catalogue reference sheet grouping messages by business area, with the purpose and key fields for each message listed. Learner presents the work with calculations and assumptions stated clearly, then reviews it against the chapter checklist and corrects any gaps before submission.
Expected deliverables.
- Message selection sheet for twelve scenarios
- Catalogue reference sheet by business area
- Message purpose and key fields table
- Scenario to message decision guide
Completion criterion. Learner selects the correct message for at least ten of twelve scenarios, states the reason for each, and groups the catalogue accurately by business area. Judgement covers accuracy, completeness, and clear written explanation in the submitted work.
